Ebay sale update

The sale is progressing slowly but not too badlyy. I already have thee items with bids on, and most of them are being watched by at least 1 person. The GI JOE figures are making a bit of a splash - and the action fleet gunship has a few watchers and is currently at £6.99 (not bad considering i bought it for £1.99)

I hope someone else bids on those star wras figs tho - 99p for about £30 worth isnt a prospect I'd enjoy!

Bid people, bid like your lives depend on it. They may well do...

Clone Wars Vol 2 - Short but sweeeet

Well as it turned out there were only 5 episodes. Somehow I feel cheated, despite the fact that they were 15 mis long each and the 5th episode left events where ROTS will take over, but even so! I want more more more!

Maybe the new ROTS toys, released on Friday, will ease the pain of waiting?

May the force be with you

Gates

It doesn't look that difficult on't telly to transform a rotting pallett and some bits of wood into a stylish gate with no apparent skill. Let me tell you how wrong that is. Taking a pallett apart intact, especially a rotting one, is well nigh impossible. I have one intact slat at this time. I also have a large pile of broken and split bits of wood. Joy.

Perhaps I need new tools.....

Clone Wars Vol 2 - week 1 summary

Series is going well - Anakin is a Jedi and he and Obi-Wan have been leading the army across the galaxy. Currently they are on an outer rim planet searching for Grievous (sent by Palpatine), but have found some Separatist installation where experiments are being carried out on the local populace in cyborg technology and behaviour modification (!). Meanwhile the battle for Coruscant has begun and Grievous and his bodyguards are chasing Palpatine, Shaak Ti and two other Jedi across Coruscant - albeit in a different way to the events in Labrynth of Evil slightly irritatingly - although I suppose it can be put down to interpretation.

Oh yeah - and you get to see Yoda and Mace defending Coruscant - wicked!

Bring on next week!

Regaining the crown

I am the champion, I am the champion, no time for youuuu 'cos I am the champion - of the squash.

I know the secret to beating Mart - have 2 weeks away and then ensure he has had too little sleep and an essay to write.

I can retire now - you're only as good as your last game!

still I beat, nay thrashed, him 4 times - although Greg almost beat me bizarrely (!)

Clone Wars Vol 2

Launched at 8:00 AM this morning on Toonami. I woke, prepared the video, waited.... Then the channel went black for 20 minutes and I missed half of the first of two episodes! Luckily it is repeated at 4 and 6 - phew!

Really cool though - it shows Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting in numerous battles, Anakin's promotion to the rank of full jedi, more of his relationship with Padme, new ships, the new clone trooper designs, Chewie and Lumpy(!) and more - and that was just the first 2 episodes!

Revenge of the Sith is going to be awesome - despite Lucas' attempt to describe it as 'Titanic in Space'.

May the force be with you....

A few rants...

1. Charity Collectors - bloody hell these people irritate me. Cardiff city centre seems to be thick with them (and hundreds of big issue sellars who are less irritating). Most of them bloody students, what irritates me is their insistence on accosting me the whole damn time and refusing to believe I am skint. I usually skirt them or tell them I already contribute, but recently they seem to be getting more persistant. My message to them: FUCK OFF - if I want to give to charity I will, and not to some prick in the street. Guilt trips annoy me not make me want to part with yet more cash for the terminally stupid.

2. Archangel on BBC - what the FUCK was that all about! Why take a good novel and think "I know, we'll change the plot to make it more exciting" when you aren't the author! How BBC managed to totally bollocks it up I have no idea. WHY did they feel the need to kill off O'Brien? Why did Zinaida have to go to Archangel and then they had to conceive some ludicroud plot line to lose her and bring O'Brien in later on when the original plot was better. The feeble attempt to create more sexual tension was pointless and Kelso, a podgy, middle aged, middle of the road Oxford historian, was suddenly transformed into a dashing young adventurer who didn't smoke - to the point of lecturing Zinaida about it. What was most irritating however, was the ability of the BBC to foget that Kelso speaks Russian at numerous intervals!!! What good is a Historian of Russia who can't speak Russian! (unless you are American and therefore stupid anyway). ther annoyances, like the insistance that Kelso was in fact a Professor, the ignoring of his sacrifics of family for career, and the fact that the programme made his out as a total idiot with little knowledge or objective opinio of the true Stalin, made the programme itself not only uncreditable, but little more than a Western vehicle for anti-communist propaganda. And they failed to characterise ANY of the characters properly.

All in all - DON'T bother with it!

Revenge of the unlikely plots

A forum poster argues:

This infamous Dark Lord of the Sith supposedly gained such an insight into the Force that he was actually able to influence the midichlorians to create life. Anakin becomes interested in this story after his haunting dreams of Padme’s death – perhaps this time he could prevent her death, unlike his mother’s. So, Palpatine says that Plagueis was able to cause the midichlorians to create life. Now, the spoiler goes on to talk about Anakin's dreams, but I believe that this relates DIRECTLY to the birth of Anakin, who HAD NO FATHER. quote:Anakin asks what happened to Plagueis in the story. Palpatine says that he was murdered by his apprentice as soon as he discovered the same power. Still thinking about Padme, Anakin asks “Would it be possible to learn this secret in some way?”Here Palpatine tells Anakin that Plagueis' apprentice murdered Plagueis "as soon as he discovered the same power"IT'S AS PLAIN AS THE NOSE ON MY VIRTUAL FACE!!!! Palpatine is EXTREMELY old, so old that HE was in fact Darth Plagueis' apprentice!! And it was PALPATINE who learned how to cause the midichlorians to create life, just like his OLD MASTER!!! So, logically, PALPATINE IS ANAKIN'S FATHER!! He manipulated the midichlorians to create Anakin in order to fulfill the prophecy, and complete his own vision of galactic rule. This is why Palpatine is so interested in Anakin. He is Anakin's "father". This resonates with the Vader/Luke father/son theme.

My view?

Darth Plagius is indeed Palpatine's master, who he did murder, and Plagius may have discovered this power but Palpatine did not create Anakin. He was also bound to wait for the situation and Anakin's birth before he could put his plans into operation. Both he and the Jedi were waiting for the chosed one - after all, the prophesy speaks of balance - which would theoretically mean the Sith either become as powerful as the Jedi or eclipse it, as the Jedi have eclipsed the Sith for generations.

It is entriely possible for Palpatine to be Plagius' apprentice - in Dark Empire we learnt that Palpatine had mastered the art of transferring his spirit into clone bodies, which could also explain his knowledge of Kamino and the strength of cloning. The story of manipulating the midichlorians is used by Palpatine to persuade Anakin that by turning to the Dark side he can save Padme - but this turns out to be a lie to corrupt Anakin finally.

Death is not the handicap it used to be

It's official - I think I am dying. Or at least very ill. Quite ill. Ok just a bit tired. Jees.

After a bit of a bastard of a weekend -couldn't lay the new floor or fit bath panels due to spectacularly uneven flooring necessitating another fatherly visit - and several hours trying to remove sodding spyware that refused to let IE work (no loss you may think), but I also couldn't open anything else on my DT whilst connected. Finally removed it, but will run a scanner/killer over it at the weekend.

I need a holiday - So I think I shall take one this week - once I finalise the brochure and leaflet, get the offers out etc etc etc......

Big up to Barber for Downloading the EPIII trailer - my attempts at which caused my spyware problems. Try http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?s=c7ce194103770df0f40cd1b4fc50e0de&threadid=328191&perpage=20&highlight=&pagenumber=14 for some links.

Twilight is upon me, and soon night must fall

The new Revenge of the Sith Trailer previewed on GMTV this morning.

It IS going to be the most amazing thing ever.

Mace leads a group of Jedi Masters to arrest Palpatine, who then reveals himself. Palpatine and Yoda fight in the Senate and Anakin leads the clones against the Jedi. What more can you want!

Now all we have to do is wait until May 25th for the film, and April for the toys!

If you book them, they will come...

Well they say practice makes perfect - in my case practice makes moderately less bad.

Still I have had a productive evening and have just about mastered some Clash songs:

White Man in Hammersmith Palais (I've just about got the intro now)
London Calling - easier than I have thought for the past 3 years!
White Riot (once I'd taken out a few unnecessary notes)
Should I stay..... - although the chorus is a bit tricky and my bass isn't fond of high notes.

It's Suede next :-S

Good Luck Fizz!

As I know Mr Wizz has located my blog - good luck this year!

Back Online!

Well after a brief (4 months!!) absence, I'm back online at home! I even managed to d/l Hello properly so I can post pics and stuff. Whether this will make me a more consciencious blogger I know not. Whether it will enable me to spell conscientious, I also know not.

BUT it will allow me more freedom on Ebay. This is a bad thing. I did turn down an ESB laser rifle yesterday though *sigh*. Beautiful, sealed, mint. My dealer spent months trying to get it. £200 isn't bad either - if you happen to have it.

Never mind - more party stuff on the way for a bargain! Stay tuned.
