Weekend of Pain

I forgot about the Carling cup!

Basically I was dethroned as squash champion on friday (despite winning 7 or 8 games, including two victories over Martin 9-0 and 8-7), but because eh "beat" me once, 7-9, apparantly I am dethroned.

Anyhow - painful thighs and a 11:30 4-hour train to London later, the party commences in the pub and goes back to Sof's flat. By 12:30 I am dying and by 2:00 with no sign of the party abating I am forced to crawl back to Jo's in the snow and sleep for the few hours before another 8am wake up. Got to Paddington by 10 am for the 10:42 train. CARLING CUP queueing system in operating. Bollocks.

11:07 am train to Cardiff and 14:25 train to Swansea later I finally get back in time to catch the second half on the radio and try to avoid falling asleep.

My plan to take today off went awry when I remembered I was demonstrating my Kidneys. So I have this afternoon to write my presentation on Imperial German censorship and have ntl installed.

Phew

Back to demoing

Chris and Angharrad

This picture really doesn't do them justice!

Return of the Ex

This is Jo, my ex (the nice one). She might be going to Australia. She owes me £120.

Ready to Depart

Sof and Phil are about to depart for Australia -via Hong Kong and Peru. I assume they are taking a first great western train then! I wont see them for about 2 years - I hope they haven't got any of my DVDs.

Bon Voyage and bring me back something nice.

PS - Phil try not to get eaten by a shark or a duck

The Next Generation of Teachers?

This is Elly - shes going to be a teacher. Plus she owes me £20!

Intrepid Traveller?

Either Sof just realised where shes going or shes just dropped one.

Anatomy Lesson A101

Apparantly I have to display my kidneys to the world this time - I have made sure there are no needles this time. Stand by on Monday. It is for this reason that I need a tattoo - to distract from my scrawny and pasty torso!

We now have our own section on www.medschoolguide.co.uk WOOOOO

Caption Competition #2

Where is that other arm!?

Your thoughts?

Caption Competition

Entries on a postcard (or use the comments box possibly) - unless you are actaully in Hawaii or something. My suggestions?

"We always knew Sam and Jo were working too hard"
"Everyone thought that Jo's cheating cornflakes (crunchy nut) diet was a fad, but when she convinced Sam to try it things took a more sinister turn"

Cathy's back!

Wow hasn't Spain been good to her! And her two friends there ;-)

Arsenal in Europe

Even Roxy felt that she could defend better than Kolo Toure - then again, who couldn't?
3-1 away to a bunch of gay Germans? What is the world coming to. I can see us coming away with nothing this season - we'll probably even lose the FA cup to Newcastle or something.

Unbelievable

Passing the Time

http://www.funny-games.biz/main.html

Bloody Pingu is amusing.

Gavin the Clone Trooper

With my growing love of Episode II (who'd have thought it!) and anticipation for the brilliance that will be Episode III (Yes Lemmy, brilliance), I have broght Gavin in to guard my monitor. Super poseable is the way to go.

Greg and Rhian

Now this was a game and a half - Rhian prevailed in the end. Ha ha, Greg lost to a girl!

Epic Squash Game

You seen, now this shot looks like I just lost. In actual fact I was gutted cos I only won 9-3!
Don't worry though I beat him 9-0 in 4 minutes later on. Rhian took 8 points off me over two games, which I won 9-3 9-5, although not without a challenge.

To be fair I barely broke sweat, but I was surprised by some of the quality.

Pegs Under Ice

I didn't think it was that cold this weekend - I had the doors and windows open as I was cleaning. I step outside and find my pegs have been frozen to the chair!

A saturday side trip to IKEA went spectacularly wrong when I bought slightly more than anticipated! A £236 bill and the realisation that I had no car and couldn't possibly carry it all on the bus called for a cab. Half the stuff is still at Cath's and I still didnt buy any furniture!

Carl Lewis Bingo is born

Will it be a bigger band than The Eighth Leg? Only time will tell. Time, and the fact that the Eighth Leg never actually exisited...

All we need is for Mary to get his drum kit and a singer. Anyone fancy it?

Currently we can play:

Ever Fallen in love (Buzzcocks) - quite well
Teenage Kicks (Undertones) - quite well
Last Night (Strokes) - OK if Kenneth's timing was better
Dreaming of You (Coral) - fairly badly
Anarchy (Pistols) - Mary and I can play it well enough

Under way:

Molly's Chambers (KOL) - I can play it at least
Up the Bracket (LIbertwats) - NOT my choice
Ace of Spades (Motorhead) - WOOO!
White Man in Hammersmith Palais (Clash)
Trying your Luck (Strokes)
Another Girl, Another Planet (Only Ones) - Noone seems to be able to remember the words.

A Game of Carl Lewis Bingo anyone?

George.

New Desktop

What do you think!? Now, if only I could stop my screenthemes resetting it everyday!

Which colour?

I'd go for warm yellow (right). What do you reckon?

Gift, what gift?

This is what I awoke to - after several hours of squealing. I think three toys is a record, although no sunglasses since Paul left.

Look no carpet destroyed!

Assembling the Troops

Bringing the Collection Together

Happy Valentines!

Happy Valentines everyone - yet another chance to buy crap for each other.

Cath and I circumvented the tradition this year and set ourselves a Hyper Value budget of £1.50.

Shopping separately we came out with the following:

Cath bought me - A tin of Canned Fish (what is Sardinella!)
A Hyper Value/ Barry Island Mug
A book entitled "My Bunny Died last night"

I bought Cath - A tin of Canned fish
A Merthyr Tydfil/ Barry Island Mug
A pack of eight childrens pirate eyepatches

Bizarre. Pictures will follow - you have been warned!!

If you're going to waste money on crap, do it in style!

Ahhhh.... You get the picture by now

You remember that accidental £150 purchase? Here it is! Spectacular. Also there is a small Omni soap display and another Adam Joseph Stamp.

More party stuff and an ESB Laser Rifle coming soon

Pirates of the Gower

Arrrrr ..... Long John Aldo looks impressed with her hyper value eyepatch.
Cath wasn't actually strangling her, even though she spent the weekend waking us up at 5am.

Sunday Dinner!

When assignments are due in its amazing how bored you become. Towers of minted carrot sandwiching baby spinach, Aubergine filled with roasted red pepper and Mexican cheese and roast potato and roasted red onion stack, with a sweet chilli, tomato and garlic sauce. I must warm the aubergine stack more next time to melt the cheese properly, but otherwise it was very nice.

The End is in sight

Only another 3 days this week and the bulk of the interviews are over!

Then its just potentially a few days next week and then the 2nd and 10th March.

Phew.

Now all I have to look forward to is all the hard work and preparing for my seminars (!)

Clone Wars Wave 3

New Anakin in post-Ventress fight gear, and very cool ARC trooper, General Grievous and Blue Clone Trooper (They also do a yellow one but I can't be arsed to buy that as well). They ,ake a nice set.

Revenge of the Sith Sneak Preview

Released on time as promised and picked up from Toys R Us. Nice packaging and a good weighty feel to the contents. General Grievous is particularly well crafted.

La Musee

Or whatever the French is. Well here it is Paul and Jas have finally vacated and I have my museum cum spare room. Moving the collection reminds me of two things:

1) How much crap I have
2) Where all my money has gone.

I figured that if there was a market for dust, I would have the perfect place to start a dust farm.

Vertigo

One of these days the idiot will fall off. Rox was rolling around above the stairs through the bannister post thingies (the name for which I forget). Idiot.

Andy's Hi-Fi

bThis is Andy's super Hi-Fi. Its verrrry nice. And verrry expensive. The sound is spectacular and the components are mostly by companies I have barely heard of (aside from some high end Pioneer ampage). The record deck really warrants video for best effect but its the one in the window of Audio Excellences up and down the country!

Stunning.

The Big Match

I think it can loosely be termed thusly:

Kick Off

YESSSS!!!

Bugger.

PENALTY! Oh come on Ref are you Mike Riley!

Oh! What a goal!

Half Time

Pizza

Arrgghh

What the hell was he doing out there!

Ahhh get off you Manc bastard.

Oh for fucks sake - no he wasn't off side, just crap defending!

Oj joy. 4-2. There goes the treble this year then.

Interviews - Day 2

Flagging already.

Too many stairs - not enough sleep.

Thank god for the current crop of tour guides - if I had to do that as well I'd be in hospital already.

Still free food for 3 weeks - can't really complain.

PS - Ford StreetKas do not have a large shopping capacity - still, if you will buy cars from the fairground ;-)
