Roxy/clip frame/emergency vet scenario
Roxy is officially cretinous (not that she wasn't before). At 8:00 Sunday morning the idiot tried to jump onto the mantlepiece in our bedroom, slipped on some paper, fell off and sliced her leg open on the corner of a clip frame. Cath got up to see what the noise was and stepped in the blood, which was everywhere!
So we tracked her down and found a huge deep 'hole' in her right hind leg, pissing blood. Obviously she had shaken it to try and get rid of it, as it was splattered up wardrobes and god knows where else.
We cornered her in the kitchen and cleaned her up whilst Cath phoned the emergency vet. We arranged to meet the vet at the clinic at 10:00 - an hour and a half away and we had to try and stop the bleeding and wrap it up. Easier said than done! After about 30 minutes of shouting at each other and the cat we finally got a bandage on her and got her settled in the cat basket. Then we cleaned the floor of blood.
Finally we got her to the vet and he had a look at her and was impressed we got the bandage on! He had to put her under GA to tie off the bleeding vein and stitch up the wound so we left her with him and picked her up a few hours later, off her tits on ketamine.
Fortunately she was fine, and the next day was back running round like a mentalist!
She hasn't pulled the stitches out yet either!
A bargain at £169 - although he did ask me to sign a form 'if' I wanted to continue - what was I going to do, let her bleed to death lol?
Anyway thanks Gareth, should he ever see this, for giving up your Sunday for my idiot cat.
