One Size Fits All
Wednesday 20th July 2005
As I have failed to blog for a fair while there is a lot to catch up on. Wednesday we met Claire and Arwel and Al and Taz at the Uplands Tav to listed to Claire's brother's band, One Size Fits All (crap name, but at least they have one!) play. Cath and I had heard them a couple of times and had borrowed a demo CD. To be fair they are pretty good, all excellent musicians and a great vocalist in Deviant. They only slight problem is that even though they have plenty of their own material it seems as if they are trying to be someone else, but cannot decide who. The set roams between Greenday covers and Greenday-esque original songs, to Metallica-esque songs to lighter jangley almost-pop with a song about Tequila. The ill-advised cover of Sittin on the dock of the bay is also one to avoid, but overall they are an enjoyable band to listen to. Most impressively, during their rendition of the Foo Fighters' Break Out, a FF fan was really going for it singing along oin a FF T Shirt and beanie - whilst enjoying a nice glass of white wine! Genius.
