OSFA gig review - 3rd September 2005
Back in the Tav the OSFA boys smashed through a much tighter set than last time. Their own material held its own against some excellent covers, the addition of Whiskey in the Jar (o) really pushed on to a new level. I remain unconvinced by the otis Redding cover, and I'm not a fan of The Foo Fighters, but on the whole it went down a storm.
AJ's guitar solos are reaching a new pinnacle, and aside from a broken string, really lifted the band. Dev's vocals are also improving by the week, and his voice has a richness to it that was perhaps lacking at the last gig, and his confidence visibly grows by the gig.
One minor downside for me is the inclusion of the Tequila song, which certainly has its place and fans, but for me does not sit quite right with the rest of the set or the sound of the band.
Overall I would award 4 stars for this performance as I feel there is still more to come.
And I refuse to call them anything more than OSFA!
Rock on.
